new news - 2/3/10

i'm on the road again with the auto show, working as a Product Specialist for Scion. It's been a great season so far.

This fall and winter I shot an ad for a new pharmaceutical called Abilify, a spot for The Colbert Report, as well as an editorial for Red Book. I also got callbacks for commercials for Keurig, Corcoran, and City Harvest.

This summer I had shoots for Canon, Redken, Brunswick, and Smartcar. I also had two callbacks for a featured role on an A&E Series, "The Fugitive Chronicles." Woo!

i'm currently performing the leading role of arella's voice in "sign-arella," a musical version of cinderella starring both deaf and hearing actors. it's written by kori rushton and bob west, with music by david boyd, and directed by paul urcioli. the cast is talented and hilarious, and it's been a really fun and interesting project to work on.

"sign-arella" runs through may 17 at interborough repertory theatre. you can find more info on the facebook group.

in the fall, i was put on hold for commercials for apple, orajel, t mobile, and emergen-c. i just finished up my hosting gig with scion for the year. i was seen on "the view" in january in a promo for kimberley-clark. busy, busy!

on the housekeeping end, i will be standardizing my photo viewer soon. i know the universe is totally wondering why i haven't been cranking out the html to fix my website glitches, so don't worry, universe! i'm on it!

i've been busy auditioning, of course, and recently was put on hold for commercials for pampers, connecticut lottery, and dexatrim. i've also been seen over the last few months in O magazine, health magazine, women's world, and in an industrial for harley davidson. on the legit end, i got a callback for the lead role in "heaven in your pocket," a nymf musical.

i'll be doing live hosting for scion this year on the auto show circuit, and the team is fabulous! see you on the road!

in the spring i took a class with jonathan strauss of Law & Order: SVU, and learned so much. i'm currently in a life-changing class called body dynamics, that utilizes priciples of anatomy and core dynamics, among other things. it's taught by the amazing carol reynolds through the t. schreiber studio. this summer i also took a soap opera class with bob lambert of "all my children."

i'm done with most of my traveling for lexus for the season, and i'm excited to be taking a bunch of really awesome classes: scene study and a special emotions class with mary boyer, and a commercial class with david cady of donna deseta casting. so i'm certainly keeping busy, and learning a lot.

after a little toiling and messing with nerdy computer programs, i just cleaned up and uploaded 4 commercials. i'm very proud of myself! also, i just put up some new print work i did for modern salon magazine and profound beauty hair products. i'm also shooting an editorial for 'real simple' next week. i was put on hold recently for a monticello dental commercial, too.

much of my time lately has been spent on the road doing live industrial hosting for lexus. it's a wonderful company to work for and i get to work and travel the country with a great team of professionals!

i've finally made a much needed update. i've uploaded lots of new commercial print work as well as one of a few commercials i've done in the last year while freelancing with various prestigious print and commercial agencies. the other commercials will be coming along as soon as i figure out some technical stuff. most recently, i shot a promo for the usa network and maytag where i got to be a rock star which was lots of fun.

in other news, i'm going to europe for 5 weeks, which i'm sure will be an amazing experience. i'll be visiting ireland, greece, italy, france and spain. i'm sure that when i return in late september, i will be refreshed and rearing to go!

i've been working a lot this month - i just shot a commercial for Avaya today. earlier in the month i got called in for "floyd & clea" at playwrights horizons and "peep show", the new jerry mitchell and andrew lippa project. i also shot print ads for Blue Cross Blue Shield, Amp'd Mobile and Hallmark.

i just got 3 - count 'em: 3! - callbacks for the national tour of Rent! very exciting. bernie telsey loves me. kind of.

i also just shot a web commercial for american express, and recently did print shoots for inc. magazine, intel and microsoft. the amex commercial was particularly exciting because we shot at silvercup studios on the same day "the sopranos" were shooting. so, in a way, that means i was on "the sopranos"! (except i wasn't. at all.)
